morbid

Jon and the kids are going to go visit his mom soon. She's in California. I have to work that weekend, so I'll be staying home. :(
Two things about this:
  1. I should call in that weekend and enjoy some peace and quiet all to myself. :)
  2. Does anybody else entertain morbid thoughts on occasions like this? I keep wondering what I would do if they were in an accident, and I was left by myself. Would I run away and join the circus? Stop going to church and rail against God? Bury myself in work to try to keep the pain at bay? Immediately take myself to the temple and have them all sealed to me? Give up everything I own and travel to some third world country and pour myself in to service? These are all thoughts I've had on the subject. Am I a sick and demented person?
I pray that they return safely to me, then I can laugh at myself for being such a moron!

Holy Cr@p!!!!

So, we popped into the library this evening for a few books. When we came out to car, take a peek at what we found....... I think I ticked off a bird or something.
Seriously, I wasn't even really under a tree either. It must have flown by and let loose. The car parked next to me got a little bit of it too. Disgusting!!!
Reminds me of an old song.....
Birdy, birdy in the sky
Drop some whitewash in my eye.
I don't worry, I don't cry,
I'm just glad that cows can't fly!!

Thankful Thursday

This week I am thankful for the blessings of the Temple....
Grateful for a beautiful day yesterday and the opportunity to go here and be sealed to my sweet parents for time and all eternity.

And I'm thankful for my momma!! It's so funny how the only time my laundry ever gets caught up is when she comes to visit!!!! Love you mom!!

oh my!

Well, we decided it was the boys' turn to get a haircut.
Let me just say that I almost cried. Before.....
During......

after
sigh

Before. Oh those curls!

During...

After
pout
sigh
oh my!

Pretty cute guys!
I think they're adorable, but I miss those curls. I miss Justin's pretty shade of strawberry and Jason's auburn. I mean, I know their hair color hasn't changed, but it's not quite as noticeable.
It'll grow back. I just hope the curls will return.
They seem to be enjoying it. Justin keeps telling me "Daddy hair", as he feels his head.

I did it!

What do you think? I see a definite improvement!
Ok, I'll be good. Here's the finished product.

I like it for the most part. I think I hoped it would lay a little different, so I might have to tweak it a bit. I want it to look sleek, to go with my body,,,,
bwahahaha!!!

Mother's Day Bounty

I had such a nice, relaxed and laid back Mother's Day. It was truly enjoyable.
Well, if you don't count the aggravation at church. Jason and Justin have been a little under the weather lately, so they were a little rough to deal with during Sacrament yesterday.
Ashley made me a boatload of fun little things for Mother's Day. She's SO creative. She really enjoys origami. Whenever we go to the library she usually checks out at least one book on the subject.
Look at the adorable paper flour she crafted. Cards from Haley (the two on the left) and Ashley (the one on the right)

Ashley created this one from beads.

OK, here is everything that Ashely created...
  1. Rosy Rivers lotion--on the back it says "with real rose petals". She filled a soap dispenser with lotion and rose petals. I'm not sure how long it's going to keep. But, creative nonetheless.
  2. Minty Mirage body spray. Another one of her very own creations. I'm not really sure what's inside, but it DOES smell faintly like mint. Hopefully in using it my crazy peppermint fetish won't return.
  3. An adorable little paper framed picture. Very clever.
  4. A Japanese card. Another origami item.
  5. A very sweet corsage she made in Activity Days. Really very cute. I think I'm going to attach it to the next fabric purse I make for myself.
  6. That cute beaded card again.
  7. And a lovely little necklace she created from beads.

There's also a couple of bookmarks in there.

Jon made me breakfast and dinner. So nice not to worry about those little details.

That frying pan there on the right is one of several he got for me. I requested these. I love them. SO much better than the pathetic old things we've been using--the nonstick surface had really begun to wear away. I love the red!

I requested tostadas and corn on the cob for dinner.
Looks pretty good huh?
It was!
Hope you all had a lovely and restful Mother's Day!

Opinions Please!

Hey guys! I'm looking for opinions.
Take a lookie at this pic. This is how my hair currently looks pretty much. (I think it's just a tad shorter than this right now).

I'm getting tired of it. It just doesn't do anything!!
Thinking about getting a cut.
Is this flattering? I have my hair pulled back, and these are my bangs. I'm thinking of having it cut to about this length all around, maybe just a smidge longer.

What do you think? Short or long?

Shhhh!!

Oh my gosh, they're BOTH asleep!!!!

They're becoming such monsters when it comes to sleeping and taking naps. Usually, Justin will cooperate and take a nap around one or two o'clock. Jason however, usually won't succumb til later in the afternoon. Justin's also been waking up quite a bit lately during the night. He'll sometimes come and get in bed with us, then it's all over for any real rest, until I haul him back to his bed.
It's a MIRACLE of no small proportion for them both to go down in the early afternoon.
Whatever will I do with myself?

May the 4th

So, my hubby just called to inform me that today is
National Star Wars Day.
It's May the Fourth.

May the fourth be with you!
