Midnight snack

I'd been in bed for half an hour last night, when the girls' bedroom door opened again. The bathroom light went on and a few minutes later it went off. Then another light went on.
Sigh.
What is Ashley doing now? I wondered. She's forever staying up later these days. It's summer time, so not really a big deal, but it was almost midnight and I had hoped the whole household was tucked in for the night.
It wasn't too much longer before I heard some rustling noises coming from the kitchen.
I got up to try to curb whatever mess she was making. I walk into the kitchen and see her legs below an open freezer door.
"What are you doing now?" I ask, walking into the kitchen where I find not only Ashley, but her sister as well; both getting ready to enjoy a waffle bowl full of mint chocolate chip ice cream.
"Seriously you guys!? It's midnight, you're supposed to be in bed!" I exclaim in my loudest whisper.
I walk out of the room and back to bed, shaking my head and hiding a smile.
It's not often I find these sisters enjoying some quality time with each other.

Oh my Heaven, how can they be seven?

Seven years have gone by in a flash.
These little men celebrated their 7th year in our family today.

They had a lot of fun. Started their celebration off with a scavenger hunt for their birthday presents.

Sent them all through the house looking for their gifts.

Once they found everything, we headed out to Chuck E Cheese for a little family celebration.
We hadn't planned on doing a big party this year, but we did invite the little boy from downstairs. They play together a lot.

Afterwards, we came back home to open presents.....
And have cake and ice cream....

Make a wish!!

I love my boys. Can't even imagine how our lives would be without them.

Oh my goodness, how the time gets away from me.
How can it be July already?
I've done zero on this blog this year.

So sad.

Thought I'd take a moment and post a few pics.
It's kind of sad, I've hardly taken any pictures this year.
Lost my mojo four years ago, and I have yet to find it.

So, in no particular order; and definitely not in chronological order...

my cute little guys playing basketball at school. This was probably in January.

Family selfie in the van, I think this was in June.

My Ashley. They had a boys vs girls day at school. I think this was in May. Ashley decided to express her view that neither sex is better than the other by going dressed as a she man.

Haley had a class project to create a totem pole to symbolize herself. Wouldn't you know it, she waited til two nights before it was due to remind me about it. She's lucky to have a creative older sister who was willing and wonderfully helpful to get the project completed on time. This is the finished piece.

Jon went fishing with his brother and some of the guys from work. Here's what he caught.

Haley's birthday cake (January). It's been a pretty low-key year this year. That cake looks pretty sad if you ask me.

One of Jason's award ceremonies. He received an academic excellence award. Justin also received awards ths year; not sure where those pics are. Parenting at it's finest. :/

We're right in the middle of summer time boredom.
No big plans for the summer.
There is a birthday to be celebrated next week. Can't believe my two little guys will be turning seven already!

Maybe I'll check my cell phone for pics. That's probably where they're all at.
(fingers crossed)
