I love this song and that verse is especially touching. I heard that this song was in the running for the national anthem but was shot down because it was written by a woman. Not sure if it's true but if it is, too bad.

Yes, that is the same verse that brought tears to my eyes today! Which is kind of not good when you need to see the notes to play. It actually was an amazing fast & testimony meeting today.
I was all choked up when we sang patriotic hymns at church today!

We sang it this week in church, loved singing it. I felt full of gratitude the whole day through for our freedoms.
There is always so much to be found beyond the first few verses of the well known American songs! They are always my favorite part.
