So, yesterday morning Ashley's doctor called. He asked first how Ashley was feeling. He said that one of the urine cultures is beginning to look like there might be a UTI, and he asked us to go have another test done.
So, I loaded all the kids into the car and we headed for a Quest center (Jon had to work, otherwise I would never in a million years take a bunch of kids with me). Not a great place to be on a Saturday morning. Super busy. Everybody and their grandmother was there trying to get testing done. No sooner had I signed in and looked around for a place to park all five of us, then poor Ashley became sick and lost her breakfast. Great. Poor Jason was standing under her; needless to say, he got a headfull. Nice!
I took them all outside, cleaned up Ashley and Jason, grabbed the barf bucket from the car (which we should have taken in with us to begin with), and headed back inside to wait to be called on. So there's one empty seat in the waiting area, and I tell Ashley to sit down there. The old lady next to her gets all freaked out, "Is she contagious?" she asks. I was not as nice as I should have been, but informed her that no, I didn't think she was contagious, and probably just had a UTI, (thanks so much for making me broadcast that to the entire waiting room). Poor lady, she'd just had surgery, and just didn't want to catch anything.
So, we're still waiting to hear back on that second test. Our doctor isn't in the office today, but he said one of his associates would check on it and give us a call. Dr. Dorway called me around 7:30 yesterday morning, it's 11:09 now. I'd say he's much more on the ball than his associates. I lay you odds he calls me in the morning before I have a chance to call him. He's awesome.
Ash continues to be up and down. The quesiness comes and goes. We're having her drink lots of cranberry juice just in case.
Anywho, just thought I'd let you all know how it's going. I appreciate all your comments and suggestions. Sorry if this is all just TMI.
OH PS! One pretty awesome thing about this whole thing, Jon suggested the other night that maybe she should get a priesthood blessing. Jon suggested it! I thought that was pretty awesome. It hadn't even crossed my mind I'm ashamed to say.

Jon suggesting should get a priesthood blessing, Yea! I know that must have really helped your heart. Hope you can get to the bottom of everything. Our oldest GRAND~girl has had a lot of UTI's and they really do make you sick. So if that's it, the Dr. will give her the right antibiotic. Yall hang in there and I'll pray things get better soon.
Blessings.
I think the blessing suggestion is a great one! I hope she gets better soon.
Sending well wishes to Ashley. Don't you hate the hurry-up-and-wait game with doctors offices!
HI, this is Annjilla...
You said, "I was not as nice as I should have been" about the woman asking about Ashley. Wasn't she in a waiting room of other sick people? Was she wearing a mask? I would've defended my daughter too and I would've been curt.
i get those things sometimes, usually once a year or once every two years! not fun at all~!
A blessing is definately a great idea!
Your poor little one, and poor you too - This kind of thing is never fun.
I hope it all clears up fast!
Don't worry about putting it all in your blog (TMI) - Sometimes the blog can be a great venting tool when things get overwhelming!
{{{hugs}}}}
I hope all goes well. The blessing is the best answer. Sorry about all this Mikki. Such a worry.
So sorry to hear that. I hope nshe gets better soon. Those are NO FUN AT ALL! My oldest had 7 UTI's before she was 3. It was not a fun road at all. They ended up testing her for kidney issues etc and all seemed well and after many blessings she has been fine since until recently we had to give her meds for ear infections and an UTI. So I totally know what you are going through. I wish you and Ashley the best!
hugs.
Was she able to get a blessing? How fantastic that Jon suggested it! I hope she is doing better--prayers your way my friend.
The blessing suggestion is great news! Bless her heart, poor little thing :-( poor you!
