I inspired someone!!!

Ok, so, my sweet daughter Ash, was inspired by my blog giveaway. Now she is doing her own. She is giving away this really cute purse and coin purse that she made.

It's really very cute. The inside is lined with a cute coordinating fabric with smaller gerbera daisies on a white background. I'm totally entering because gerbera daisies are my favorite. (Ashley thinks it would be cool if I win, because then she wouldn't have to ship it!)

But really, she wants someone else to win. (and so do I). So swing by her blog and check it out. Leave her a comment, give her a shout-out on your blog for an extra entry. She did a pretty good job on it I think.

Hot fun in the summertime

Haley-loo-yah

My Haley. She is something else. This little girl just goes, goes, goes. The only time she ever seems to stop (moving and talking) is if she's sick or asleep. I did a post on Ashley a while back, and now I'm finally getting around to Haley. Poor girl, she's always waiting on me. Haley is all boy. Her best friends are boys, although she has made friends with several sweet girls in kindergarten, of course, those girls seem to be tomboys too, although not quite as tomboyish as Haley.
She loves spiderman, superman, cars and boy clothes. I cannot get her to wear anything pink. If it come from the girls department, even if it's red or blue or black--it's a no go. The only time she will wear a dress is on Sunday, for church. Thank goodness we don't have to fight on this issue. Of course, it's usually her khaki colored jumper that she likes to wear every week. Occassionally I can convince her to wear her purple skirt and top, or the cute little scottie dog skirt I made for her sister a few years ago. Or, there's the puke green/brown colored skirt we found at the DI, that she'll wear.
Haley and I butt heads frequently. She is very opinionated, and very stubborn. Rather than ask me if I would do something for her, she often tells me what I have to do. We had to have a discussion about this finally. I'm the mom after all, and I am the one who gets to dictate.
Heaven forbid if Haley ever gets hurt, emotionally or physically. She doesn't cry, she wails. I just cringe whenever she starts up. It's very loud, and I am a very quiet person. People are usually lucky if they can hear what I say when I talk. So Haley is a bit of an adjustment for me I guess. She's loud in general too. What is quite strange is that she hates loud sounds. I'm not sure if it's because they startle her, or hurt her ears.
Haley is also very sweet and sensitive. She gives great loves.
She still likes to be tucked in at night, thank goodness. When she prays, instead of asking for things, she says "I hope" such and such will happen.
Loves to have her back scratched. She loves cheese--- cottage cheese, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, swiss cheese. Actually, I guess it's dairy in general. Mustn't forget milk, chocolate milk, sour cream and scrambled eggs.
I feel so bad sometimes, because she is essentially, the middle child. We didn't take any video recordings of her like we did her big sister. We have taken as many photographs I think, but we did lose a cd with like 1200 or so pictures on it, and many of those were her baby pictures. :o( (well, lose isn't the right word. The cd somehow got erased--never store your cd's in or on your hard drive) *sigh*
Haley wants to be a missionary. She loves to sing "I hope they call me on a mission".
She asked me if she could have her own blog last week, and I finally said yes. Hope it won't turn out to be a mistake. So far her entries consist of one liners like "my blog is awesome!!" and "my blog is so cool!!".
You can check it out here if you'd like. I'm sure she'd love to get some comments. (Thanks Merrianne, for your sweet comments there already.)

got this in an email

butt dust

What, you ask, is 'Butt Dust?' Kids have wonderfully imaginative minds! Read on and you'll discover the joy! These must be original & genuine. No adult is this creative!
JACK (age 3) was watching his Mom breast-feeding his new baby sister. After a while he asked: 'Mom why have you got two? Is one for hot and one for cold milk?'
MELANIE (age 5) asked her Granny how old she was. Granny replied she was so old she didn't remember any more. Melanie said, 'If you don't remember you must look in the back of your panties. Mine say five to six.'
STEVEN (age 3) hugged and kissed his Mom good night. 'I love you so much that when you die I'm going to bury you outside my bedroom window.'
BRITTANY (age 4) had an earache and wanted a pain killer. She tried in vain to take the lid off the bottle. Seeing her frustration, her Mom explained it was a child-proof cap and she'd have to open it for her. Eyes wide with wonder, the little girl asked: 'How does it know it's me?'
SUSAN (age 4) was drinking juice when she got the hiccups. 'Please don't give me this juice again,' she said, 'It makes my teeth cough.'
DJ (age 4) stepped onto the bathroom scale and asked: 'How much do I cost?'
MARC (age 4) was engrossed in a young couple that were hugging and kissing in a restaurant. Without taking his eyes off them, he asked his dad: 'Why is he whispering in her mouth?'
CLINTON (age 5) was in his bedroom looking worried. When his Mom asked what was troubling him, he replied, 'I don't know what'll happen with this bed when I get married. How will my wife fit in?'
JAMES (age 4) was listening to a Bible story. His dad read: 'The man named Lot was warned to take his wife and flee out of the city but his wife looked back and was turned to salt.' Concerned, James asked: 'What happened to the flea?'
TAMMY (age 4) was with her mother when they met an elderly, rather wrinkled woman her Mom knew. Tammy looked at her for a while and then asked, 'Why doesn't your skin fit your face?'
A Sunday sermon this Mom will never forget... 'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust...' He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year-old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'
Spread the Smiles!!!

Gone... And the winner is....

Heebie Jeebie!!

Ok this is the reason I will NOT ever move to Texas, or Florida, or any other place where the bugs are big. Do you see the size of this beetle? He's as long as my finger!! He's dead, otherwise, I would not have been anywhere near him. Saw him yesterday caught in a spider web in the front yard. I thought it was a cockroach, which would have been soooo much worse. I was very relieved to see it was a beetle, and that he was outside.

Nope, it sprinkled (shoud I say spit) for about a minute, not even enough to get the ground wet.

It was all I could do though, not to put everything back when I saw a whole slew of Stephanie Meyer's books on an endcap. I was sooooo tempted to buy all of them for little ol' me. But, I did not succumb to temptation.

So, without further ado, here is the giveaway....

Vote now

OK, the boys are both down, should I:
A. go take a nap myself
B. attempt to tackle some ot the piles of crap overtaking my house
C. Run screaming down the street
D. Veg out in front of the tv.
E. Blog, blog, blog

By, the way, I feel like @#!& today, thanks for asking. Could be that I'm tired, PMS'ing-grrrr, malnourished, overwhelmed, under-exercised (not even a word?) or all of the above. I think I need a padded room. Please, laugh with me, maybe that will make me feel better.
So, silver lining, silver lining....the boys are both down, the piles will wait for me--they're not going anywhere, I CAN take a nap--Jon won't care that I got nothing accomplished today, running down the street screaming would give me some exercise, vegging out with some chocolate would be delightful, blogging is cheap therapy.
