on becoming a slave driver...

Well, the girls are on track break again. They get pretty much the whole month of November off.
Lucky turds.
My house is in serious need of a major overhaul. What better time to tackle it right? Huge mess, extra helpers around for a whole month. Who could ask for more?

So what project did we tackle today?
Is their room now sparkling clean?
Can you eat off my kitchen floor?
Is the mountain of laundry finally tamed?
nah'!
I took them to the Springs Preserve . I have to say it was really cool. I've been wanting to check it out for a while, and it was the perfect day to go. Temps were in the upper 60's to low 70's. It was gorgeous out!
There is SO much to check out there. I think we're going to have to buy a season pass, because really you could spend hours in just one section of the place. There are trails to walk, gardens to look at, exhibits and tons of hands on stuff for the kids to do.

Checking out some desert wildlife....

Hello Mr. Lizard!

Looking at a bunny...can you see him? How about this one?

This room was pretty cool. It depicts a flash flood, which can happen pretty quickly around here in the summertime.

The rushing water scared the boys, but it was pretty awesome.

An awesome playground for the kiddies....

Down at the end of the snake's tail, there's a hidden speaker and a sensor. Jason walked past it, and set it off. Sounded like a gigantic ratttlesnake and scared the you know what out of him. It was pretty funny.

Same thing with the birds. We were trying to find the sensor but couldn't. Finally as we were leaving, Justin somehow managed to be the one to set it off. Poor little guy about had a stroke!
We laughed so hard.

Once he saw this, it became nearly impossible to get Justin away from it.

Pretty cool, wish we had one for the back yard.

A train is definitely on the Christmas wish list!

And tomorrow? Tomorrow we're tackling that mountain of laundry!

This looks like an awesome place and I would so have a yearly pass!
Always go have fun when you can :) You've got the rest of your life to wash clothes!

There will always be laundry. Glad you had a fun day with the kids - that is way more important!

It looks like all of you had a great time. I would like to have the train in my backyard too.

Let's just hope you had several clean pairs of pants after all that scaring!

OK so that train is way cool. I think it is every little boys dream. I love the climbing snake and dinosaur bones. Awesome way to procrastinate cleaning the house.

Wow Mikki, they should have you for their marketing person. I think we're going to have to go check out the Springs Preserve!
