things that make ya' go hmmmmm

How is it, that in two weeks with both hubby and my "big" girls home---I got absolutely nothing accomplished around my house? And yet, after one day with them all back to school and work, and only the two little monkeys around (who are by the way, not the least bit helpful at cleaning) I got more accomplished?

this table has looked like this, or worse for the better part of a month

Again, the kitchen island hasn't seen the light of day for a month, at least.

You know, I should probably just say to heck with all those other resolutions I made, and just make it my goal to keep these two surfaces clear, and looking like this for the whole year.
Somehow, I think that would be harder than all those other resolutions combined.

You are just like me Mikki...
I didn't get much done when everyone was here but as soon as they left I got busy with it! :)
I like spending time with them when they are all home, not spending time cleaning. Plus when they are all home you can clean but what's the use, in two seconds it will be dirty again! Hence waiting till they are all gone so I can enjoy the clean even if it's only for a hour or two! LOL!
Have a great week,
Robin~♥

Wow! Those are inspiring pictures!!! I tell myself that once something is clean I'll be so good at keeping it spotless! Doesn't happen. I want a maid.

That's all you need in life. A clean table and island.

Amazing how a clean table makes the room so much better! Mine has been and still is covered with half finished lego projects. When will it ever end?

I did feel extremely happy and have lots of energy yesterday though with an empty house. I love them dearly, but I need my little bit of time alone. And I get so much more accomplished when I have to be up and moving in the morning.

Here's to kids being back in school!

I always feel motivated to clean when my family is out of the house. I thought it was just another of my many quirks!! Your clean spaces make me feel so invigorated!!! Thanx for sharing!

You know, strangely it's been just the opposite. I thought for sure that with all the monkeys home for 2 weeks the house would get trashed. But, it stayed clean, and now that they've been back for 2 days, it's totally trashed.
I think I'm too busy playing chauffer (or blogging) to clean.

You did a great job with all that decluttering. I have all my kids home on summer holidays at the moment and boy do they make a mess!

I have a blog award for you. Please stop by to find out about it.

The kitchen counter is always the hardest to keep clean! It looks great, and I hope you can keep it going!

I am so right there with ya! By the time the holidays were over my house looked like a bomb had gone off. Not that it ever looks great, but we had some improving to do as well. And the house is definitely one of my resolutions.
*hugs*

I know the feeling, my house always gets trashed over the weekends. I think when Jason and the kids are home I don't want to be cleaning. I want to hang out with them! The house looks great!

I am all for keeping those counters and tables cleared off - it seems that what 1/2 my time is spent on now a days! Great job Mikki!
