our place

Merrianne did a post the other day about what things look like in her kneck of the woods, and finished up by asking what things look like where we live. So, I'm finally getting around to posting some of those pictures.
so, here's the street I live on.....
And here it is from another angle....

This is my house

This is the school that's across the street from my house...

And this is our church, that's behind the school, that's across the street from my house.

The girls across the street in front of the school.

You can't really tell from the picture, but this is a little hill at the end of our street that we like to go for our walk on.

And here's the view from the top. If you look close you can see some casinos in the distant background, no you can't see them? Oh I guess all that funky haze is getting in the way.

This is just around the corner at the top of the hill. I like this street, if you keep walking, there's a good sized park just beyond the bend in the road.

And here are a few pics of some of the pretty fauna here in vegas.

And one more view of our church.

I really do like where we live. We are away from the strip. The girls' school is across the street-so nice, and church is also right there within walking distance. (you'd think I'd actually walk there huh'?).

So, there you have it. Las Vegas from a different perspective than you might normally see.

Mikki-
My husband served his mission in Vegas in the mid eighties, "Elder Roland Roy" :) I was the girl waiting back home-Tulsa. We are now only a couple hours from Vegas. We usually go there when we fly back East to see his family.

Love the pictures of your area-beautiful home too!

I'm not sure what I'm doing for work...but I've put applications all around town. So the first one to call gets me! I hope it's Zions Floral Shop. I do weddings a lot :)

Looks like a great place to live, and how convenient to have the school and church so close by! Nice house - your grass is so nice and green for so late in the summer.

What a sweet little neighborhood! I love that you posted this. Las Vegas is a neat city, once you get off the strip :)

How nice to have school and church within walking distance esp with gas prices the way they are. Great pics. One of these days I'll get around to posting our shots too.

That's just like our neighborhood in Vegas, we lived by the temple, like less than a mile away...it never really felt like we were in VEGAS unless someone came to town who wanted to go see the city. I loved living so close to the temple we went to the temple a lot! Cool post and cute house!
