Fun, Fun, Fun

Today we had a doctor's appointment for the boys--their fifteen month check-ups.
This picture is so sweet. Justin was being examined by our doctor, and was just not a happy camper. He gets very scared of the examining table, and the doctor. So, he's screaming bloody murder--and sweet Jason was feeling quite empathetic. Justin, however, was just happy to be done, and didn't feel any of that sympathy for Jason while he was unhappily being examined.
About the time we were finishing up at the doctors' office, I got a call from the school about my girls. Not good news. They have head lice. Nice huh'? I was so bummed for them. Tomorrow is Nevada day and they don't have school, so they were both going to have little parties in their classes today to celebrate Nevada Day, but nope, they had to come home because of the infestation.
So, I went and bought the stuff for it. But, the nurse at the school also mentioned saturating their heads with mayonnaise--I guess it's supposed to suffocate the little suckers. So, below you see the fabulous deep conditioning treatment they're currently enjoying.
In fact, I'm sitting here typing with my hair also encased in mayonnaise and saran wrap. We thought it better to be safe than sorry. Jon and I are both enjoying the treatment as well. Tomorrow we'll apply the other chemical stuff from the store. Hopefully between the two, we'll have success.

Here is Ashley yesterday, enjoying the $3 pomegranite she bought at Smiths. Three dollars!!! For one pomegranite!!! Insane. It is a big one, but still. Three dollars!!!!!!

When we went grocery shopping Monday night, Haley asked for lemons to make lemonade with. So I agreed (after much begging on her part).
I'm glad I agreed. It was pretty tasty!!!

Look what was in the mailbox for me yesterday.....
Jeri, from In the Gutter sent these out as runners up prizes for last giveaway. Wasn't that sweet. What can I say....more chocolate....you know it didn't go to waste. Thanks Jeri!!

Now a little advice please? What do you get when you cross a plastic measuring spoon, with your toddler and a broiler pan?
Well, this after you unknowingly turn on the oven and realize after ten minutes there's a foul odor coming form the oven.
So, the boys were playing with this, that, and the other and stuck a measuring spoon in the oven. I go to cook something in the oven, and discover this--plastic spoon melted to broiler pan. It won't come off now. Any suggestions. Should I just reheat it, and try to scoop it off while it's hot and melted? I'm not sure how well that's going to work. Anybody ever had a similar experience?

Ah well, there's our family fun for this week. How's your week going?
PS I may never eat mayonnaise again!

First of all, I love the pictures! Second, how exciting getting some fun mail! I love getting surprises in the mail instead of just all bills :) Sorry about the pan! I hope you can get that off!

My parents have two huge pomegranate trees at their house, the pomegranates are just falling off and rotting on the ground, they should sell them.

Sorry about the lice and pan. Good luck! I haven't had experience with either so I can't be much help.

So much of this post is not laughable, but I was laughing. There is never a dull moment in your life! Those twins are too adorable! Lice - ugh! Do you have to worry about it getting on bedding and clothing and stuff? I guess you can tell I don't have kids - thankfully, cats don't get lice! Hope your weekend is better!

Those pics of your boys are so stinkin' cute! And lice! That sucks!
I love pomegranites, but haven't had one in forever!
I don't know what to tell you about the spoon, I'd probably just try scraping it off and watching the pan really good.
Sounds like you've got your hands full with those boys.
Surprisingly this has never happened me....yet...

Is LICE running rapidly through our school? Should I be on the look out?

Mikki- Growing up...my mom had to handle lice coming home from school, burnt wooden spoons in the dishwasher, doctor appointments and tons of other stuff. How did she handle the craziness? She wrote books on parenting! Ha! I always say she got the last laugh-with $$$ in her pocket :)

i would heat the pan up again, but just slightly and then when it begins to harden is when you should remove the plastic. Be careful not to burn yourself. It should flake right up.

lice my daughter had lice 5 years ago. I about freaked out and had an anureism. yeah, I cant spell.

I mean we have a whole lot of hair in this house and then you have to treat bedding, carpet and furniture. That is a lot to cover.

I just bought the treatment and it took 3 times, her hair was so long.
We combed it through. I love those little knit combs that come in the kit. YOur girls hair is blonde. I think it would be harder to see. the little crystal clear eggs. I hope you get it all.

I love a mayonaisse deep condition. rinse out in sink because the grease is havoc cleaning out in your tub.

Oh my gosh Mikki lice? That is crazy I think it is going around in Vegas. I have a friend in the Aliante ward whose daughter just had it a couple of weeks ago as well. I hope that you can get rid of it easily. Good luck!

Ugh!!! What a week!!!!! and such a nice way to top it off with the melted spoon in the broiler. It begs the question that you're probably afraid to ask...."What next?!?" At least there's never a dull moment! Good luck getting that off. Ya just might need a new broiler pan :(

P.S. Where did Merrianne disappear to now? I can't get to her blog...again - HELP!!!!
