Flashback Friday

OK so, my wonderful aunt Myrtle Rae took a lot of time and patience and scanned hundreds of pictures of my grandma's to disc, then made copies for everyone. So, I was looking through one of them today and couldn't resist the urge to post some of them.

~

I love these two pictures of my mom. She looks so beautiful. The little boy in her arms is my big brother James. (he passed away in 2001)

~
My brothers James, David and me.

~
This picture is hilarious to me. We were going to a wedding. My hair was slicked back something major. I'm wearing a white skirt--wouldn't you know it, I got my period that day. Nice stains all over my new white skirt.

~

James and his son, Matthew. Matthew is now like, 16 or 17 years old. Man, that makes me feel old!

These next few crack me up too. These are some interesting before and after ones.

David as a cute and sweet young man...

And here he is in his rebellious teenage years.

My sister, Jennivene, as a cute little munchkin...

And after, in ger "Goth, new age, and rebellious teenage years.

(looks like BoyGeorge-no?)

Me, as a cute little girl......

And later, in my oh so nerdy years. Nice glasses huh'? Can you say bug eyes?

A family picture after the boys had moved away.

Mom,

Dad,

Me and Jenn

And last, but certainly not least. The love of my life...
Jon as an adorable little boy on his pony...

And, after... rebellious and hip!

Sorry about the spacing on this post, I can't figure out how to fix it.

So funny to look back at old photos! To fix all that extra spacing, go into the HTML area of your post, and you'll see a bunch of extra < div > marks that you can delete - if you don't see the "div" to delete, then just delete the extra spaces by either hiting the delete key or the backspace key.

I love to look at old pics. And laugh. I thought you purposely added the spacing for drama on the before and afters.

I tried deleting in the compose box, but it kept doing it's own thing. I'll check out the hotmail box. Thanks Laura! :o)

those hairstyles and clothes look awful familiar! I can't stand how blogger preview and my actual publishing never mesh. Stop calling yourself bug eyes-- that's not nice. Besides, if they were tinted you'd look like the current movie stars :-)

I love your old pics. Isn't funny how glasses date us. I love your mother's glasses and also your 80s' ones -- I wonder why they made them so big?

Old pics are so much fun to look at. I get a kick out of the hair styles from the past. Lovin' the 80's stoner haircut Jon was sporting in the last pic and the big hair that all of our moms had when we were little. I think my mom actually had glasses like that too. Great flashback. Makes me want to pull out all of my old family pics :)

i love those first few pics of your mom, she's beautiful! it's neat to see old pictures, not just the way we look but the backgrounds- old looking furniture, old appliances, the curtains... which back then looked new!!! that's fun!!! :)
